A detailed explanation of our Purpose § 2

 

It is our purpose to establish and maintain an international and interdisciplinary Academic Research Society in the field of Esotericism: Religion, Philosophy, Science and Art.

The term ‘establish’ means that the present goals of our project are not fully manifested yet, however, we do on the other hand perceive the project itself to be ever evolving through new challenges and goals. We intend to ‘maintain’ this evolving project as long as it is vitalised through activity.

The project is intended to be an ‘Academic Research Society’ for scholars and people interested in sharing their effort and insight into the history and nature of Esotericism (encompassing - and in relation to Religion, Philosophy, Science and Art or 'Culture' at large).

Esotericism appears to be a trans-disciplinary or multi-disciplinary phenomena meaning that many researchers within separate and specialised fields of study have dealt with Esotericism in relation to their particular and isolated field of study on their own, without having a larger whole into which he or she can compare and share results and thus gain insight into the subject from other perspectives. We seek to establish and maintain such an ‘interrelated universal medium for research into Esotericism’ or in other words a Research Society.
